Note From The Blogger

We interrupt the posts on this blog to bring you this special note from the blogger. . .

As some of you already know I have been struggling with back issues for a very long time. I was able to manage up until about 3 years ago when I was diagnosed with sciatica. Since then, I have noticed a slow decline in my ability to be able to do things I normally do and more frequent flare ups of pain. About 2 months the pain and discomfort became much, much worse. I knew something had changed dramatically so it was time to have my back reevaluated.

I talked to my doctor and he ordered an X-ray. After seeing the results of that he ordered an MRI. That was last Friday. The doctor called me a couple of days ago and told me that the results of the MRI showed that I have Spondylolisthesis. What that means is one of the vertebrae in my spine has slipped over the one below it. He considers the slippage to be severe. The next step is for me to go to a back specialist. I’m now waiting for a call from them.

At this point, I won’t know for sure what the future holds as far as treatment options and whatnot until I see that doctor.Β  What I do know for sure is I’m not giving up blogging or putting the blog on hold like I did beforeΒ (also see this post). There will only be one change – since I’m having more difficulty walking and can’t get out and about everyday I will be fudging the rules a bit by picking photos from my archives that have never been published.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled post. . .

  4. So sorry to hear that. Keep us updated. I am certain that your back specialist will do something about this problem. Don’t be afraid of operations – my father had one 40 years ago, and my friend – two years ago. Both were as good as new after the surgery. Think positive! Hugs! xx

  5. I join with those who wish you all the best. Though I don’t know you personally, I know just from following your posts that you are stronger than your back is weak, and it’s only a matter of time before you get back (pun intended) to where you want to be. πŸ™‚

  13. Any of your pictures are always good pictures, no matter when you took them. I hope that the doctor is able to give you good news, like time will heal without treatment or that there’s a treatment that’s easy on you and works well if treatment is necessary. Bless you, I’m sending you good energy.

    • Thanks so much, Nancy! I hope so too. I trust the doctor making the referral so I feel very confident that who ever the new doctor is they will do right by me. I refuse to get all down about it – there’s no use in being negative. Positive thinking is a much better way to go. πŸ™‚
