“It has been said that trees are imperfect men, and seem to bemoan their imprisonment rooted in the ground. But they never seem so to me. I never saw a discontented tree. They grip the ground as though they liked it, and though fast rooted they travel about as far as we do. They go wandering forth in all directions with every wind, going and coming like ourselves, traveling with us around the sun two million miles a day, and through space heaven knows how fast and far!” –John Muir

Far from bemoaning…I rather like the sound of rustling trees, with a good wind they can even sound a little like the sea! Great picture Jackie, it looks like the edge of an enchanted wood 😉

Sometimes, the simplest of subjects can give rise to many questions about what lies beyond??! 🙂 We could have done with some wind today to rustle the many trees around here…sadly, their leaves hung as limp as lettuces – pretty much as did we in this unbearable heat ;-/

I’m so sorry you are still struggling with the horrible heat. I hope some relief comes your way very soon.

After a couple of mini electrical storms and some welcome rain – things have been a lot more bearable, thank goodness 🙂

I’m so happy you have gotten some relief from the relenting heat and humidity. I hope that also means you are starting to feel a bit better. 🙂

Thank you Jackie, I am 🙂 It’s hard to imagine just how many people must suffer from the heat in different ways?!

I’m glad you are feeling better. I’m guessing there are quite a lot that suffer the effects of heat as well as cold. It seems like the more extreme the weather becomes the more people suffer. It’s all topsy turvy.

All in all, we humans are really very delicate, once all the bravado is removed, we should all take better care of ourselves and each other, I think 🙂

That’s a wonderful quote. They each have their own spirit and each one is beautiful.

It seems like the woods are extra green and lush this year. Must be all the rain we’ve had. 🙂
