Day 83: Oriental Lily

“A species belonging to the genus Lilium, oriental lilies have an extremely high commercial value. They, along with a few other members of its genus, are highly favored as commercial cut flowers. This flower can be easily grown in home gardens too with a little bit of information about its bulb handling, planting, growth habits, and care. Oriental lilies are hybrids developed from crossing East Asian species.” (Source)

  1. This is a beautiful photo Jackie, it looks stunning against the dark background. They are truly beautiful flowers to look at, but I can’t stand the fragrance, it’s just too pungent for me. I know some who love it though. I understand the stamens are poisonous to cats. I think it’s the stamens? Pxx
